The Washburn Fire continues to burn in Yosemite National Park, growing over 2,000 acres. The fire originated in the Mariposa Grove area of the park, near the Washburn Trail. And though it has been labeled as a slow-moving fire with no threat to human safety, one concern is prevalent: The giant sequoias.

Some 500 of the iconic trees dot that area of the park and have been a focus of the firefighters. The good news: Giant sequoias are adaptive to fire. The bad news: Much of that depends on the intensity.

As the efforts progress, here are the latest photos captured of the Washburn Fire.
