Here are the pop-up shops, special products you should check out during the NFL draft

Detroit's retail landscape has some new options in time for the NFL draft this week, offering visitors a wider selection of Detroit-themed apparel, sportswear and draft-specific products.

Here's a list of pop-up stores that will be open in downtown Detroit and stores elsewhere in the city featuring local businesses and products specific to the NFL draft that are worth checking out.

Downtown Detroit pop-up stores

Born in Detroit

  • Location: 1275 Woodward Ave. (at the former Moosejaw store across from the Shinola Hotel)

  • What you'll find: Detroit-themed apparel such as T-shirts and sweatshirts, along with an expanded apparel line for women and kids, hats and glassware, among other products.

  • Hours: Every day from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and on Sundays from 12 p.m.-5 p.m. until April 30.

The NFL Shop

  • Location: 1001 Woodward Ave.

  • What you'll find: This shop offers products including apparel, headwear, mini helmets and pennants from 23 different brands, with the majority of the product mix being exclusive.

  • Hours:  12 p.m.-10 p.m. Thursday; 12 p.m.-10 p.m. Friday, and  9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday.

Klutch Athletics by New Balance

  • Location: 119 State St.

  • What you'll find: Sportswear and Detroit-themed customization options.

  • Hours: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

Luxury Locker Room

  • Location: I33 John R St. (in the Metropolitan Building above The Detroit Shoppe)

  • What you'll find: Retail capsules of the most influential and essential pieces from more than 25 brands sold at The Somerset Collection in Troy.

  • Hours: Open from noon to 8 p.m. daily through Saturday and for extended hours on draft days.

Outside downtown

Corktown Small Business Block Party

  • Location: 1620 Michigan Ave.

  • What you'll find: About 40 small businesses are offering sweet and savory treats, jewelry, clothes, candles and sunglasses, among other products, a Chase spokesperson said. Chase, Ask Jennyfer from All Things Marketplace and the Detroit Hispanic Development Corp. are putting on the event. Papa’s Brittle and Lorraine’s Premium BBQ Sauce are two of the vendors that will be there.

  • Hours: 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Thursday; 12 p.m.-8 p.m. Friday; and 12 p.m.-8 p.m. Saturday.

Thursday Business Luncheon Group's Black business pop-up shop

  • Location: Sacred Heart Activities Building, 3451 Rivard St.

  • What you'll find: Sweet Potato Delights, Fetish for Styles Boutique and AfrikanSpirit Cards are just a few of the more than 30 Black-owned businesses that will be at the pop-up.

  • Hours: Thursday: 6 p.m.-11 p.m. Friday 6 p.m.-11 p.m

NFL draft products to check out

  • The NFL Shop has special collection products including New Era draft hats, a G-III "Axel Foley" ("Beverly Hills Cop") Detroit Lions varsity jacket and Rock ‘Em Socks Detroit-themed socks.

  • Carhartt is offering a limited-edition run of a T-shirt designed specifically for the draft available at its two stores in Detroit (5800 Cass Ave. and 441 W. Canfield St.). The design was created via a contest with graduates from Detroit’s Pensole Lewis College of Business and Design. The winning design was submitted by Pensole Lewis College graduate and Detroit native, Matthew Holness, and features the Carhartt "C" logo and a blue automobile with a football license plate.
