Baseball, Colton Guillot (Pensacola Catholic): The Crusaders are one of the hottest teams in baseball right now, and concluded the regular season last week with three wins. In a tight 3-0 win over Central, Guillot threw 5.2 innings on the mound, striking out 10 batters, allowing just one hit in the process. Then he took over the plate in a run-rule win against Pace, crushing a home run with two runs and two RBIs. In another mercy rule victory, this time against Gulf Breeze, Guillot had another home run with two runs and three RBIs.

Softball, Jamison Gilman (Northview): With the Chiefs posting a three-win week, Northview hit the 20-win mark on the season for the first time since 2019. Gilman was a strong two-way player in those three contests. In a win over Blacksher (Alabama), Gilman had three hits, three runs and two RBIs. At the pitcher's circle, she struck out four batters in five innings, earning a no-hitter. Gilman tacked on four hits with three doubles, adding four runs and four RBIs, in a big win over Booker T. Washington. Then, against Gulf Breeze, Gilman had a hit with three runs, while also striking out six batters in five innings in the win.

Flag football, Amaya Pablo (Pace): Just one area flag football team remains alive in the 2024 season. Pablo led the Patriots to a 21-12 win over rival Navarre in the Region 1-2A semifinals. She threw for 131 yards and three touchdowns in the game, while also rushing for two yards. Defensively, Pablo added five tackles and defended two passes.

Boys lacrosse, Noah Watkins (Pensacola Catholic): In a game described as a "chess match," goalie Noah Watkins was the king. It was a narrow one-goal victory over South Walton in the Region 1-1A quarterfinals last week for the Crusaders. Watkins, after allowing a few early goals, stayed right in line with Pensacola Catholic, making crucial saves in the dying minutes of the contest to keep it scoreless in the last eight minutes of the game. Watkins finished the night with 16 saves.

Girls lacrosse, Ella Adams (Pensacola Catholic): In another region win for the Crusaders, Ella Adams was involved in more than half the goals for Pensacola Catholic in its 14-8 win over Bolles last week. Adams led the team with four goals and five assists for nine points on the night. She also added a ground ball and a caused turnover, winning a couple draws in the process.

Boys tennis, Eric Ormsby (Gulf Breeze): As the Dolphins were in regional play, Ormsby went undefeated for the Dolphins in two matches. In a 4-2 win over Chiles in the semifinals, Ormsby was victorious in first singles (7-5, 6-3) defeating Michael Metarko. In first doubles, alongside Morgan Leibowitz, Ormsby pushed Gulf Breeze to victory topping Chiles' first doubles pair (4-1, 5-4 [7-5]). Despite the team loss to Leon in the region final, Ormsby was the lone victorious Dolphin. He defeated Gabe Garcia (6-3, 0-6, 1-0 [10-8]).

Girls tennis, Maya Chavan (Pensacola Catholic): Chavan was undefeated as well in regional play, as the Crusaders continue their season as a team into the state series. Chavan claimed second singles over Lily Morgan of Florida High in the regional semifinals (6-0, 6-0), while also pairing up with Alexa Anderson in second doubles to defeat Florida High's second doubles pair (4-0, 5-4 [7-0]). In the region final win over Maclay, Chavan defeated Autumn Daniels in second singles (6-3, 6-3). The second doubles bout was abandoned as Pensacola Catholic had secured the match.

Boys track and field, Arman Truitt (West Florida): Truitt placed first in three events at the District 1-2A meet at Panama City Bozeman, propelling the Jags to a team win at the district level. Truitt claimed the pole vault by four inches, clearing a height of 13 feet, 3.5 inches. He also won the 110-meter hurdles by 0.02 seconds with a time of 14.66 seconds. In the 400-meter hurdles, Truitt posted a time of 1 minute, 0.11 seconds, to claim gold. Truitt also placed second in the long jump with a distance of 21 feet, 4 inches.

Girls track and field, Synia Hughley (Pensacola): Hughley placed first in three events for the Tigers at the District 1-2A meet at Panama City Bozeman. Individually, Hughley won the 100-meter hurdles by nearly a second, clocking in at 15.15 seconds. Hughley was also part of two winning relays, including the 4x100-meter relay, which finished in 49.55 seconds, and the 4x400-meter relay, which posted a time of 4 minutes, 9.44 seconds. Hughley also placed second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1 minute, 8.37 seconds.
