Phoenix Suns unveil new home court designs for 2023-24 season

The Phoenix Suns unveiled their new court designs Thursday night on social media that coincide with the new sunburst uniforms for the 2023-24 season and last season’s black statement uniforms with PHX across the chest.

The center court will have the sunburst logo or PHX. The Suns play their home opener Oct. 28 against Utah at Footprint Center.

The Suns' creative team designed the court, which has a black baseline with a purple/black gradient sideline to go with either jersey. Last month, Phoenix unveiled its new Nike Icon and Association uniforms.

“The sunburst is an iconic design that is one of the most popular among Suns fans; it represents some of the most defining moments in our team’s history,” said Suns CEO Josh Bartelstein in a news release. “These new uniforms seamlessly blend the nostalgia of the past with the excitement of the future as we begin the next great era of Suns basketball.”

The Suns open the 2023-24 season on Oct. 24 at Golden State on the NBA’s opening night. They followed that up Oct. 26 with the Lakers in Los Angeles before their home opener against the Jazz.

“The members of the Ring of Honor played a central role in creating the organization’s storied history and it was important that we honor them in a way that will always be on display,” said Suns team owner Mat Ishbia in a news release last month.

The current 15 ‘Ring of Honor’ are Alvan Adams, Charles Barkley, Tom Chambers, Jerry Colangelo, Walter Davis, Cotton Fitzsimmons, Connie Hawkins, Kevin Johnson, John MacLeod, Dan Majerle, Al McCoy, Steve Nash, Joe Proski, Dick Van Arsdale and Paul Westphal.

“These legends helped define the Suns and are integral members of our family, connecting all generations of our fans throughout the past 55 years," Ishbia continued. "The permanent banners and murals will serve as a constant tribute to their contributions to the team’s history and how they paved the way for the next era of Suns basketball.”

The team will unveil new permanent banners and murals for ‘Ring of Honor’ at halftime of the home opener. Shawn Marion and Amar’e Stoudemire are scheduled to attend as they are the two latest inductees.
