Phoenix Suns face NBA champion Denver Nuggets in preseason Oct. 10 at Footprint Center

The Phoenix Suns will play the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets in the 2023-24 preseason, the Nuggets announced Tuesday afternoon.

The game will be played Oct. 10 at Footprint Center at 7 p.m.

The Nuggets eliminated the Suns in the Western Conference semifinals in their championship run. Denver lost four games total in the playoffs with two coming against Phoenix.

Down 0-2, Phoenix won Game 3 and 4 at home to even the series, but lost Game 5 in Denver and dropped Game 6 by 25 points at home, 125-100.

The Suns will play five preseason games this year. Four of their games have been announced through their opponent. In addition to the Nuggets game, others include:

Oct. 12 – at Portland Trail Blazers (Moda Center), 7 p.m.

Oct. 16 – Portland Trail Blazers at Footprint Center, 7 p.m.

Oct 19 – vs. Los Angeles Lakers at Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs, 7 p.m.

The NBA is expected to release the 2023-24 schedule as early as next week.
