Phoenix Suns' duo of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker earn All-NBA honors

Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns was selected to the All-NBA second team after his first full season with the Phoenix Suns.

Suns' guard Devin Booker was named to the All-NBA third team.

The announcements were made Wednesday during the NBA on TNT pregame show.

Making All-NBA for the 11th time, Durant averaged 27.1 points on 52.3% shooting, 6.6 points rebounds, and five assists in 75 games, the most he’s played in a regular season since suffering an Achilles injury in the 2019 NBA Finals that sidelined him the entire 2019-20 season in his first year in Brooklyn.

Shooting 41.3% from 3, Durant is now eighth on the NBA’s all-time scoring list with 28,924 points. The Sun acquired Durant in a blockbuster deal before last season’s trade deadline that sent Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson and multiple first-round picks to the Nets.

The Suns finished this season 49-33 to land the sixth seed, but were the first team eliminated from the playoffs as Minnesota swept them in the first round. The Timberwolves then knocked off the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets in advancing to the Western Conference finals for the first time since 2004.

Booker averaged 27.1 points on 49.2% shooting 6.9 assists and 4.5 rebounds OR didn’t make All-NBA despite averaging 27.1 points on 49.2% shooting, 6.9 assists and 4.5 rebounds.

Playing 68 games, Booker shot 36.4% from 3 this season. He made All-NBA first team in the 2020-21 season when the Suns reached the finals before losing to the Bucks in six games.

Durant and Booker finished fifth and sixth in the NBA in scoring this season. They were both chosen to play for Team USA in the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
