Pewamo-Westphalia and Lakewood spent all season ranked among the top volleyball teams in their divisions.

And both programs lead the way with players recognized all-state by the Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association.

The selections are headlined by P-W setter Taylor Smith, who was named the state's Miss Volleyball winner earlier this month. She was one of four players recognized for the Pirates, who made the deepest state tournament run in the area by reaching the Division 3 quarterfinals.

Smith, who is headed to Eastern Michigan, was joined as a first team all-state selection in Division 3 by teammate Saige Martin. P-W senior libero Caroline Hengesbach was a second team selection and sophomore Annika Platte earned honorable mention accolades.
