Patriots RB James White out indefinitely with a hip subluxation
New England Patriots running back James White is out indefinitely with a hip subluxation that he suffered in the team’s Week 3 loss to the New Orleans Saints, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Michael Giardi.
White is undergoing tests to learn the severity of the injury. Rapoport said “an IR stint would make sense” for White. That would mean an absence of at least three weeks. He suffered the injury in the second quarter on Sunday during a six-yard run when he landed on his hip as he went to the ground. He rode the cart off the field, apparently unable to walk under his own power.
This season, he has 12 receptions for 94 yards and 10 carries for 38 yards and one touchdown. White was the team’s leading receiver in Week 2.

His absence leaves behind running backs Damien Harris, Brandon Bolden, Rhamondre Stevenson and J.J. Taylor. Bolden took the bulk of snaps from White on Sunday.
