Teenager who went missing at Bergen Community College found safe

A 19-year-old Bergen Community College student who went missing Wednesday has been found.

"Morgan is back! Thank you everyone!" Morgan Panzer's mother Denise said Friday on Facebook.

Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton said the teen was found safe by Clifton police at the Wendy's on Main Avenue on Friday and is back with her family.

Police do not yet have details about where she has been the past few days, Cureton said.

Morgan Panzer left campus after her mother dropped her off for classes Wednesday morning. She was last seen walking in the community college's parking garage alone around 11 a.m.

When the teen did not respond to texts, her parents grew worried and went to the college, where they used an iPhone tracking app to locate their daughter's phone and backpack along with a note saying she would return in three weeks.

"She left everything there and walked out," Denise said.

Paramus police and the Bergen County Sheriff's Office asked the public for help finding the missing girl, and Denise and Richard Panzer both posted pleas for help in the search for Morgan on their individual Facebook pages.

Denise Panzer was tearful on the phone Thursday while talking about her daughter, saying this behavior is "out of character" for her.

"She's never done this before," Panzer said. "She sticks to me like glue."
