Panthers to announce Day 3 draft pick from Germany

Last year, former Carolina Panthers defensive end Kemp Rasmussen—as pictured in the featured image of this here post—announced the franchise’s second-round selection of wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. And for one of this year’s picks, they’ll be keeping a bit of that German flavor.

Per Ben Fischer of the Sports Business Journal, the Panthers will be one of three teams—along with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs—to announce a third-day selection from Munich, Germany. This, of course, will help promote the organization’s presence in the country—to which they were granted International Marketing Area rights this past December.

As part of those rights, the Panthers will be permitted to connect with German fans—whether that be through holding watch parties and football camps as well as having access to the nation’s sponsors. The New England Patriots, Chiefs and Buccaneers—who will host the first NFL game on German soil this upcoming season—are also joining Carolina in this potentially prosperous endeavor.
