Palm Beach County district championships: See winners from bowling, golf, swimming

Playoffs have arrived, and with it, Palm Beach County athletes are showcasing their individual skills across district competitions.

Below, see what schools – and which athletes – are making their marks in bowling, golf, and swimming.

Bowling

Boys District 13

Winner: Jupiter

Luke James followed his star-studded individual performance from last year by leading Jupiter with a 592 score in the district championship.

Mason Weimer posted a standout individual performance, bowling a 628 to pace runner-up Palm Beach Central, while Wellington’s Nicholas Ruggeri and Drefoos’ Michael Feuerborn had individual qualifying scores of 530 and 499, respectively.

Girls District 13

Winner: Jupiter

Breanna Grudinsky followed her all-county recognition last year by posting a 578 in districts this season, leading the way for the champion Warriors. The junior has been the team captain since her freshman year, and she’s certainly showcasing why.

Abigail Burton and Josie Lerer led the way for runner-up King’s Academy, while Wellington bowlers Courtney Lawrence and Brandi Lee posted individual qualifying scores of 396 and 386, respectively.

Boys District 14

Winner – Boca Raton

Joseph Wagner, Andres Luquis, Aidan Quong, and Devin Chauhan all posted scores north of the 500 mark in a district championship win for the Bobcats.

Jayden Brown bowled a 586 to help Dr. Joaquin Garcia claim the runner-up spot, while Austin Duvall of Park Vista and Mateo Ruiz of Somerset Canyons bowled scores 661 and 665, respectively, to qualify.

Girls District 14

Winner – West Boca

Angelica Blimegger paced West Boca with a 546, helping the bulls to the championship victory. She managed to improve on her 201 average from last year’s sophomore campaign.

Park Vista grabbed the runner-up spot thanks in part to contributions from Delaney Orzolek, who bowled a 471 – though her teammates were all close behind. Spanish River’s Ayla Helmle and Boca’s Erica Carrillo each qualified via respective scores of 488 and 434.
