Packers lose DL Montravius Adams to season-ending toe injury
Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur confirmed defensive lineman Montravius Adams will almost certainly miss the rest of the 2020 season due to a toe injury.
LaFleur said it’s the same injury Adams dealt with during training camp. The Packers officially placed him on injured reserve on Wednesday.
“It doesn’t bode well for Mon being able to come back,” LaFleur said Friday.
Adams played 130 defensive snaps over eight games this season. He produced two tackles for losses and was the defense’s second-highest graded player against the run at Pro Football Focus, trailing only Kenny Clark.
PFF credited Adams with two pressures and seven stops, or tackles constituting a failure for the offense.
Adams injured his toe during camp and must have re-injured the area at some point recently. He missed Sunday’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts because of the injury.
LaFleur said he was battling through the issue but it eventually became time to shut him down.
A third-round pick in 2017, Adams is playing this season on the final year of his rookie contract and will be an unrestricted free agent this spring. It’s possible he’s played his final game in Green Bay.
