Packers activate All-Pro LT David Bakhtiari from PUP list

One of the best offensive linemen in football is finally returning to the Green Bay Packers.

According to the league’s transaction wire, five-time All-Pro David Bakhtiari was activated to the 53-man roster by the Packers on Wednesday, marking his official return after missing over 10 months while recovering from a torn ACL.

Wednesday was the team’s deadline for activating Bakhtiari.

On Monday, coach Matt LaFleur declined to confirm that Bakhtiari would be ready to play Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. The team has remained cautious in handling his return from a major injury.

Bakhtiari has been practicing with the team since Oct. 20. LaFleur said Wednesday that part of the process of returning to the field will be getting Bakhtiari more involved during practice phases.

When Bakhtiari returns, the Packers will have to figure out where to put Elgton Jenkins, who has excelled at left tackle. He could move back to left guard, where he was a Pro Bowler last year, but Jenkins has the ability to play all five offensive line positions.

As always, the Packers will give Bakhtiari the week to get himself ready to play on Sunday. He is considered day to day.
