Oregon's Grace VanSlooten earns Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors, presented by Nextiva

Oregon forward Grace VanSlooten has been named the Pac-12 Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week, presented by Nextiva. VanSlooten helped the Ducks to a 2-0 start for the eighth straight season with victories over Northwestern (100-57) and Seattle U (90-47). She leads all Pac-12 freshmen in scoring, averaging 18.0 points per game on 55.6 percent shooting. VanSlooten put up 20 points in the Ducks' season-opening victory over Northwestern, the highest point total by a UO freshman since Dec. 13, 2020 (Te-Hina Paopao at Oregon State, 22 points). She also all scorers in both wins and added nine rebounds and three blocks while going 6-for-6 from the line in Saturday's victory over Seattle U.
