Following a standout season that saw him finish third in the Heisman Trophy voting for the Oregon football team, star quarterback Bo Nix presented a check for $13,400 to the PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center Foundation from Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and 7-Eleven.

Nix worked with 7-Eleven during his senior season as part of the brand's "Cleat Crew," in which eight other athletes from across the country came together to create custom cleats that were auctioned off to benefit Children's Miracle hospitals.

Nix's cleats sold for $3,400 and those funds, along with a $10,000 donation from 7-Eleven, will be used by PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center RiverBend to purchase life-saving equipment. Nix visited several families who directly benefited from that fundraising during an event on Monday.

“It means a lot to me to be able to play a role in supporting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and families like these,” Nix said in a press release. “It’s really cool to see how much impact people can have on one another and how a simple shoe can go a long way and make such a difference. It’s a joy for me and my wife, Izzy, to be part of something like this.”
