Oregon 5-star QB Dante Moore jumps up to No. 2 prospect in 2023 class, per 247Sports

Going into this spring, you couldn’t argue the fact that 5-star quarterback Dante Moore was an elite player, and among the best in the 2023 class. After seeing what he’s done through the camp circuit, though, there was no way that you could keep him ranked where he was inside the top-10 players in the nation.

Previously ranked as the No. 8 player in the class, and No. 4 QB in that group, Moore got bumped up quite a bit by 247Sports over the weekend. Now, according to the 247Sports Top-10, Moore is ranked as the No. 2 overall player in the class, and the No. 2 QB. He trails only Arch Manning, a Texas commit who is the nephew of Eli and Peyton Manning.

In the process, Moore jumped ahead of players like Nicholaus Iamaleava (Tennessee), Malachi Nelson (USC), Cormani McClain (uncommitted), and Kadyn Proctor (Iowa).

Here is the reasoning for bumping him up, per 247Sports:

To no surprise, Moore became the highest QB commit in Oregon Ducks history and also snuck into the top-5 for overall commits in Oregon history as well. Duck fans are going to have to wait a little while to see him in the green and yellow officially, but it’s pretty clear that they got a great player to root for in the future.
