Oneonta wrestling wins Owego Riverhawk tournament

Jan. 15—The Oneonta wrestling team finished first overall out of 11 teams at the Owego Riverhawk Tournament Saturday.

Winning their respective classes for the Yellowjackets were Alan Little at 145 pounds, Lucas Weaver at 170 and Jayden Zakala at 215.

Clinching second-place finishes were Clayton Ritter (101), Darren Rose (170) and Nason Renne (285).

Finishing third were Marshall Mahar (108), Isaac Gray (131), Beckett Holmes (138) and Reilly Waltz (160).

Oneonta will be back in action Wednesday at the Section IV Dual Meet in Tioga.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Unatego/Franklin 58, Unadilla Valley 47 (Saturday)

The Unatego/Franklin boys basketball team defeated Unadilla Valley 47 in Saturday's Midstate Athletic Conference game.

Reese James and Xander Johnson each scored 16 points for U/F while Braeden Johnson followed with 14 of his own.

Denzel Peter scored a game-high 20 points for UV while Dalton Allen added nine points.

U/F will host Walton/Downsville Thursday while UV will visit Delhi the same day.

Richfield Springs 62, Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville 49 (Saturday)

Richfield Springs notched a 62-49 non-league win at home Saturday over Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville.

Bradyn Dunckel led the Eagles with 20 points while Justin Wolfe also finished in double figures with 12 points.

Richfield Springs will be at Sharon Springs Friday.

The Delhi boys rolled to a 66-30 win over Bainbridge-Guilford Friday in a Midstate Athletic Conference matchup.

Tommy Nagy led a balanced Bulldogs offense with 13 points while Ivan Richardson scored 12 to go with seven rebounds, Chuck Haight scored 10 and Seamus deMauro notched nine points and five rebounds.

Michael Lipani and James Hogroian each scored seven points to lead the Bobcats.

Delhi (8-2 overall, 4-0 league) will host Unadilla Valley Thursday while B-G will be at Afton the same day.
