One NFL Insider believes the Browns are a dark-horse to land DeAndre Hopkins

Ever since it was released that former wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins wanted a trade the Cleveland Browns have been considered a landing spot. It made sense when you consider the relationship and success Hopkins enjoyed with Deshaun Watson in Houston. However, the team elected to trade for younger talent in Elijah Moore and draft Cedric Tillman to improve the position.

Now that the Cardinals have released Hopkins the rumors have started back up even if it doesn’t make much sense for the Browns. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler has now listed Cleveland as a dark horse to sign the veteran.

The room is pretty full so if the team signs him it likely means someone else has to go and others will lose targets in the passing offense. You can’t argue that Hopkins can’t still play because he can but with Amari Cooper, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Elijah Moore, and David Njoku who is the odd man out if Hopkins comes to town?

For now, we will wait and see after all Andrew Berry shocked us all with the Za’Darius Smith trade and maybe he has one more in his back pocket. If the money works out and is low on a one-year deal I would understand that but for now, I do not think it’ll happen and that’s a good thing.
