Ole Miss softball score vs. Utah: Live updates from Salt Lake City Regional final
Ole Miss softball will be looking to score a place in the super regionals when it takes on Utah in the Salt Lake City Regional final at Dumke Family Softball Stadium on Sunday.
The Rebels (32-27) sealed their place in the regional final with a decisive victory over Baylor on Saturday in a game that finished past midnight in Oxford. Ole Miss got another outstanding start from Catelyn Riley in that game. The Rebels' ace pitched four scoreless innings.
Utah (39-13) advanced to the regional final by topping the Rebels Saturday afternoon, 7-1. As a result, Ole Miss will have to beat the host Utes twice if Jamie Trachsel's team hopes to advance to the super regional round for the third time in program history.
To pull that off, the Rebels will likely have to solve Utah's Mariah Lopez, who allowed just one run while racking up 10 strikeouts in a complete-game effort in the first meeting between the two sides.
