Ole Miss baseball score updates vs. South Carolina: Rebels host Gamecocks in SEC series
Ole Miss baseball will be out to score a statement series win to open SEC play when South Carolina travels to Swayze Field for a three-game set beginning Friday.
The Rebels (13-5) have won their past seven games. They swept a home series against Morehead State last weekend and won a midweek road game at Louisiana-Monroe on Tuesday.
The Gamecocks (14-3), ranked 20th in the nation in the USA TODAY Sports coaches poll, also are riding a hot streak. They've won their past six, sweeping Longwood last weekend before handling Georgia State on Tuesday.

Game 1: Ole Miss 5, South Carolina 4
Luke Hill's clutch, two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning turned a one-run Ole Miss deficit into a one-run lead. The Rebels used three productive outs to score their other runs in support of starter Gunnar Dennis, who went five innings and gave up three runs while striking out seven Gamecocks.
Game 2: Ole Miss 12, South Carolina 3
Liam Doyle picked up 10 strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work while giving up five runs in his second start of the season. The Rebels turned a close game through seven innings into a blowout with an eight-run eighth, keyed by Andrew Fischer's third home run of the day to bring him to nine on the season.
Game 3: South Carolina 6, Ole Miss 2
The Rebels couldn't complete the sweep. Grayson Saunier gave up five earned runs and one unearned run in his first SEC start of the year, and Ole Miss couldn't cash in several walks from South Carolina pitching. Only Treyson Hughes' RBI triple and an ensuing RBI groundout got the Rebels on the scoreboard.
