Oklahoma softball: These are the 5 best OU player performances we saw at Cowgirl Challenge

The OU softball team won all five of its games during the Cowgirl Challenge in Lake Charles, Louisiana, this past weekend.

The Sooners earned a 9-0 (5) win over Central Arkansas and an 8-1 win over McNeese State on Friday. They then earned an 8-0 (5) win over Lamar and a 3-0 win over McNeese State on Saturday.

Finally, OU ended its time in Louisiana with an 8-0 (5) win over Central Arkansas on Sunday. The Sooners are now 9-0 this season, and they boast an NCAA-record winning streak of 62 games.

Here are the top five performers for OU during the Cowgirl Challenge.

5. Jayda Coleman, outfielder

Coleman provided a consistent source of production throughout the weekend.

The senior outfielder tallied four runs and two RBIs on 8-for-16 hitting. Coleman recorded a run in all but one of the Sooners' five games.

4. Alyssa Brito, utility

Despite only playing in four games during the Cowgirl Challenge, Brito racked up four RBIs and four runs on 5-for-12 hitting.

The senior Sooner's best moment at the plate came in a win over McNeese State on Friday. Brito delivered a two-run homer in the top of the sixth inning.

3. Kelly Maxwell, pitcher

Maxwell made three appearances inside the circle this past weekend. The OSU transfer only allowed four hits and one earned run in 6 1/3 innings pitched.

Maxwell earned her third win of the season against McNeese State on Friday. She racked up eight strikeouts and gave up just one earned run in five innings pitched.

2. Nicole May, pitcher

May looked sharp in her two Cowgirl Challenge appearances. The senior pitcher secured a win against Central Arkansas on Friday and recorded another one against McNeese State on Saturday.

May only gave up one hit and no runs in a combined 6 1/3 innings pitched. She also recorded 11 strikeouts along the way.

1. Tiare Jennings, infielder

Opposing pitchers had no answer for Jennings.

The senior infielder recorded five RBIs and six runs on 7-for-16 hitting. Jennings also hit a solo home run against Lamar on Saturday and two-run homer against Central Arkansas on Sunday.
