And then there were six.

That's how many Akron-area teams remain alive as the OHSAA football playoffs reaches the regional final round at 7 p.m. today, and two of them play each other. The rematch is a Division II battle between top seed Hoban and second seed Walsh Jesuit at the University of Akron. The Knights walloped the Warriors 57-7 on Sept. 29.

Three of our remaining teams are No. 3 seeds looking to upset No. 1 seeds: Highland versus Avon and Green versus Massillon in Division II and Mogadore versus Kirtland in Division VI. The last team is No. 6 Medina matched up against No. 1 St. Edward in Division I.
