Ohio State dance team earns TikTok acclaim after placing first in national competition
The Ohio State University dance team took first place in its division for its performance at the Universal Dance Association's national competition Sunday, earning viral TikTok fame in the process.
Over 300 universities from 48 states participated in the 2024 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship at The Walt Disney World Resort from Friday to Sunday.
OSU took home first place in Division IA with a score of 98.9206, narrowly beating the University of Minnesota Spirit Squad, which earned a score of 98.4286.
A video of the OSU team's winning performance on TikTok has since been viewed almost 5 million times.

Did Ohio State place elsewhere in UDA College Nationals?
According to Varsity, which sponsors the competitive event, Ohio State University placed second in the 2024 poms competition below the University of Minnesota Spirit Squad. OSU also placed first in the Spirit Program ahead of the University of Mississippi.
Ohio State also finished second in the co-ed partner stunt, just narrowly behind first-place Weber State. The Buckeyes also finished seventh in the D1A mascot competition.
