Ohio State basketball can’t turn fortunes around, loses to Michigan State at home
The Ohio State basketball team might not win another game this season. It used to be that you could count on the Buckeyes at least being competitive and handling business at home, but not this season, a season in which we have to wonder if the team has already given up on the season.
Against Michigan State, a team that has been far from impressive this season, you would have thought Ohio State would play with more poise and energy, but it simply didn’t happen. The Buckeyes got boat-raced midway through the first half and couldn’t dig out of it, falling to the Spartans by a total score of 61-42.
Forty-two points.
Yes, that’s all the OSU offense could muster on the day. The confidence of this team is shattered, and there’s nobody that seems to want to play with the pride of wearing Ohio State across the front of the jersey. Instead, the Buckeyes played very uninspiredly on both ends, and it resulted in 11 turnovers to just 5 assists and a shooting percentage of just 28.3% from the field.
Oh, The Buckeyes also got outrebounded, outhustled, and only got to the free-throw line two times. In fact, the officials seemed to put the whistles away as well because the Spartans only shot one free throw, but didn’t need them because they took care of other areas of the game.
Not Ohio State.
Only one Buckeye player even finished in double figures, and that was barely, with guard Sean McNeil scoring 10 points on a less-than-blistering 4-of-13 from the field.

Brice Sensabaugh again struggled, scoring just eight points on a paltry 3-of-14 shooting.
With the loss, Ohio State has now dropped 11 of its last 12 games and has an overall record of 11-14 and just 3-11 in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes are now guaranteed a losing record in the conference.
