Nurburgring Onboard Video Captures Narrow Escape from 155 MPH Crash

The 24 Hours of Nürburgring is only about a month away and drivers like Adam Christodoulou are reminiscing on past racing experiences ahead of the 2024 season. Driving for Mercedes-AMG's GT3 program and taking the top spot at the 2016 24 Hours of Nürburgring, Christodoulou has had his fair share of hairy experiences on track, but one stands out in particular.
Descending from the Flugplatz and through the high-speed Kottenborn section of the 'Ring, a TikTok video posted by Christodoulou shows the British driver pinned in 6th gear, turning close to 155 mph. As he makes his way through the requisite traffic, the Giti Tire Motorsport by WS Racing BMW M4 GT4 ahead suffers from a punctured tire and swerves across the entire track, directly in Christodoulou's line.
By lifting, braking hard, and inching the button-adorned GT3-style steering wheel, he manages to avoid what would be a catastrophic, traffic-piling collision. Relieving the pressure with an appropriate expletive, Christodoulou brakes hard into the Swedish Cross and drops to 3rd gear before beginning the climb of the Aremburg.
"A bit of luck and pure survival instinct kicked in, I think," Christodoulou wrote on TikTok. "All in a day's work."
