The Western Conference semifinals matchup between the Denver Nuggets and the Minnesota Timberwolves is reaching its peak as both teams head back to Minneapolis, preparing for a must-watch Game 6 at the Target Center.

The Nuggets took a 3-2 series lead after their star player, three-time MVP Nikola Jokic, put on a show. He started off the night receiving his new hardware prior to tip-off, and then proceeded to amaze with his skills, scoring a staggering 40 points, making 13 assists, and grabbing seven rebounds in the 112-97 win against the Timberwolves in Game 5. Aaron Gordon also significantly contributed to the victory with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

The reigning NBA Champions are on the brink of advancing to the Western Conference finals. However, if the Timberwolves manage to turn the tide, the series will be extended to a thrilling Game 7.

Fox Sports: Timberwolves 112 - Nuggets 108

Staff writes: "Denver holds a 5-4 record in the last nine head-to-head matchups with Minnesota. The Timberwolves have a 5-4 record against the spread when taking on the Nuggets. In their past four contests the Timberwolves have not beaten the point spread, and they were favored in three of those games."

Winners and Whiner: Take Denver

Paul Biagioli writes: "Anthony Edwards was stifled by double teams in Game five, the Nuggets are willing to let guys like McDaniels or Alexander-Walker try to beat them on the perimeter while taking Edwards out of the game. The defending champs have the momentum, and will close out this series on the road."
