There will be a change in leadership for the girls soccer program at Notre Dame Academy.

Brian Woeste, who was head coach for the 2023 season, will switch job titles with assistant coach Cory Dan, who takes over as head coach for the program. Woeste will stay with the Pandas as an assistant coach.

Dan has over 30 years of experience, according to an NDA release. He has had coaching stints with clubs such as Kings Hammer, Tennessee Soccer Club and Soccer United. According to the release, “his dedication to player development and creating a positive team environment aligns perfectly with NDA’s commitment to excellence both on and off the field.”

He has a USSF National “C” license in coaching and other nationally licensed certifications. He was also a player in the University of Cincinnati club program.

“I am beyond grateful to be named (head coach),” Dan said in the release. “I’ve spent the last 30-plus years immersed in the game as a player, referee, spectator, administrator and coach. Now, we begin a new chapter here at NDA.

“The staff and I are excited as we prepare for the seasons ahead. There is a lot for me to learn about the high school game, but my main goal is to create an environment where the staff and players can develop together to help us successfully accomplish our goals.”

Woeste took over as head coach May 25, 2023, after Suli Kayed resigned from the position. Woeste, an assistant coach at NDA for five seasons before that, led the Pandas to the Ninth Region championship and the state semifinals.
