Fan poll: Columbia baseball's Jack Beck voted Columbia area boys athlete of the week

The votes are in and Columbia Central's Jack Beck was voted by fans as The Daily Herald's Columbia area boys athlete of the week for April 29-May 3.

Beck won the award with 7,857 votes, accounting for 49.65% of all responses. Beck was 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, four RBIs and two additional runs in a 17-5 win over Spring Hill last Thursday. Beck was also 2-for-3 with a walk-off double, two runs, a stolen base and RBI in a 7-6 win last Monday.

Loretto's Clint Seymore finished second in voting with 6,362 votes, 40.2% of the total responses. Seymore went 7-for-10 on the week with two home runs, a triple, two doubles, four RBIs, five additional runs and a stolen base as Loretto went 3-0.

Summit's Will Chladny finished third in voting with 1,350 votes, 8.53% of the total. Chladny struck out 12 batters in seven innings pitched, allowing four hits and no runs in a 1-0 loss to Nolensville last Thursday.
