Purdue basketball is fresh off of knocking off No. 1 and is ready to keep the good vibes rolling against Jacksonville.
The Boilermakers (10-1) took down then-top-ranked Arizona behind the three-headed monster of Zach Edey (22 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists), Braden Smith (26 points, 4-of-7 3-pointers) and Fletcher Loyer (27 points, 5-of-9 3s). That trio carries Purdue: Edey (24.5 points, 10.6 rebounds, 2.6 blocked shots); Smith (14.4 points, 47.5% on 3-pointers, 5.7 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 1.7 steals); Loyer (11.7 points, 39.2% on 3s).
The Boilermakers leapfrogged Kansas and Houston to retake the nation's No. 1 ranking after beating Arizona.
The Dolphins (8-4) beat Louisiana-Monroe on Monday but are 0-2 against teams from power conferences. Robert McCray V (6-4, 17.4 points, 3.4 assists, 1.7 assists) and Marcus Niblack (6-2, 11.4 points, 1.6 steals) lead Jacksonville, but Bryce Workman (6-7, 12.3 points, 7.2 rebounds) has missed its past three games.
