NH college football: Brosmer passes UNH past Stony Brook

Oct. 21—Quarterback Max Brosmer passed for 335 yards and four touchdowns, leading the University of New Hampshire past Stony Brook 45-14 on Saturday in Stony Brook, New York.

With its second straight CAA win, UNH improved to 2-2 in the conference, 4-3 overall. The Wildcats visit Rhode Island this coming Saturday (1 p.m.)

Brosmer was 28-for-40, hitting four different receivers for touchdowns: Joey Corcoran for 54 yards; Londonderry's Colby Ramshaw for 5 yards; Dylan Laube for 23, and Caleb Burke for 57. Brosmer also ran 9 yards for a touchdown.

Laube carried 15 times for 42 yards and a TD and also caught seven passes for 57 yards.

UNH led 10-7 at the end of the first quarter and 31-14 at halftime.

Stony Brook dropped to 0-5 in the conference, 0-7 overall.

Dartmouth 20, Columbia 9: In Hanover, cornerback Patrick Campbell had a game that defensive players dream about. He blocked a punt and recovered it for a touchdown, intercepted a pass late in the third quarter, and broke up a fourth-and-goal pass from the 4 in the end zone in the fourth quarter.

The Big Green, who had just 215 yards of offense, improved to 2-1 in the Ivy League — tied for first place with Princeton, Harvard, Penn and Cornell. Dartmouth is 3-3 overall.

Freshman Owen Zalc kicked a pair of season-long 47-yard field goals.

Dartmouth visits Harvard this coming Saturday at 4 p.m.

Plymouth State 35, Worcester State 0: In Plymouth, Willie Lombard ran for 127 yards (21 carries) and a TD as the Panthers (2-5 overall, 2-3 in the MASCAC) won their second straight. Londonderry's Tyler Kayo also scored, on a 2-yard run.

Saint Anselm 14, Assumption 0: In Worcester, the Hawks' defense stood tall again — and even outscored the Greyhounds when linebacker Justin Villanueva returned a fumble 6 yards for a TD. Assumption was limited to six first downs and 78 yards of total offense (to 158 for Saint Anselm). The Hawks have won three straight and are 5-3 overall, 4-1 in the Northeast-10.

Post 16, Franklin Pierce 13: In Rindge, Alex Benitez rushed for both FPU touchdowns and finished with 150 yards on 22 carries in the Ravens' loss. FPU dropped to 3-4 overall, 2-3 in the NE10.
