NBA roundup: Kings' Evans getting second opinion on knee

The Sacramento Kings announced Monday that guard Tyreke Evans is getting a second opinion on his sore left knee.

He is visiting Dr. Steve Lombardo in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Evans did not travel with the team on its current four-game road trip, which starts Tuesday against the Detroit Pistons.

Evans is scoring 15.1 points per game with 4.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 18 games. He has missed seven games since the injury on Dec. 16 against the Denver Nuggets.

---The Dallas Mavericks recalled guard Jared Cunningham from the Texas Legends of the NBA Development League.

Cunningham was originally assigned to the D-League on Dec. 11 and played in seven games (six starts). He averaged 18.1 points, 3.0 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 37.0 minutes per game.

--Free agent swingman Lazar Hayward rejoined the Minnesota Timberwolves, signing an NBA contract. He averaged 1.4 points for the Thunder last season. According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the Wolves chose Hayward over James Anderson and Joey Graham.

---The Memphis Grizzlies recalled guard Tony Wroten from the NBA Development League's Reno Bighorns.

Wroten averaged 14.5 points, 5.0 assists and 2.0 rebounds on 54. 5 percent shooting in 29.5 minutes in two games for Reno since being reassigned Dec. 26.

--The Golden State Warriors re-assigned guard/forward Kent Bazemore and forward/center Jeremy Tyler to the Santa Cruz Warriors of the Development League.

Bazemore, 23, has appeared in 16 games with Golden State this season, registering 10 points in 26 total minutes. Tyler, 21, has appeared in 11 games for Golden State this season, averaging 1.1 points in 2.4 minutes per contest.
