Miesha Tate talks about 'TUF' drama and the comical personalities on Team Rousey

I want to thank everyone for the nice comments you are leaving under these blogs, or are sending me on Twitter. I'm seeing a lot of comments like "Miesha is coming across really well" and things like that. It's nice to be liked but, honestly, you can't be anyone but yourself when the cameras are on you for hours and hours, day after day, week after week. I'm the person I am, I'm not going out there to do anything but be myself, coach my team, and help these guys win a UFC contract.

One thing I want to address from the last episode is how Ronda Rousey and her coaching staff seemed to think we picked Jessica from her team to fight Roxanne from our team because we supposedly knew Jessica had an injured shoulder. Actually, we didn't know.

If we'd noticed it we would have put a gameplan together taking that into consideration, either telling Roxy to go for shoulder locks or not to worry so much about the right cross and worry about the left hook etc. Watching the episode, I did recall how Jessica was icing her shoulder after her elimination fight but that was weeks before the Roxy fight. Jessica apparently did a good job of keeping her injury a secret at the house and, really, I didn't know that she had an issue with it going into the fight with Roxy at all.

But, going after an opponent's weakness is part of the sport, and it is especially a part of what TUF is all about. Spending six weeks of grueling training, fighting three times in that period and all of it taking a physical and emotional toll, is what puts the "tough" in TUF. No one is going to be 100 percent on any given day, so if you have a fighter who is ready to fight, like Roxy was, and you can match them against someone who maybe isn't 100 percent, then you better do it. This is a competition, and I can't say that, if we did know about the injury, we wouldn't have picked Jessica anyway.

The fight itself was outstanding, both girls gave it everything. I have so much respect for them both. Things didn't go Roxy's way and it broke my heart that she'd come all this way, fought for years and years on the international circuit, and it didn't work out for her when she finally got to the UFC. It was the same with Shayna's loss two weeks before. I was happy for the winner, but no matter who's team they are on, you have to feel so bad for the loser. I've been in this sport for years, like they have, and I'm lucky enough to have had things go my way when I got to fight in big fights. It's heartbreaking when a veteran finally gets into the spotlight and stumbles.

But… this is MMA. There has to be a loser for there to be a winner. Roxy will be back, trust me.

The other big talking point on Twitter this week was the whole Dennis Hallman vs Team Rousey's boxing coach, Edmund Tarverdyan, incident. Looking back, I found it so funny. I am surprised Fox Sports 1 didn't show more of it, because it went on for a while at the time and only a few minutes were actually shown.

I think it's funny that people think that I'm so obsessed with affecting Ronda's mood that I'd sit there and think "Gee, who could I bring in to annoy Ronda the most?" as if that's my priority. No, my priority was "Who can I bring in to offer something to my team in the gym?"

And, really, even this far into the season I think everyone is seeing that it doesn't take anything at all to make Ronda, Edmund or any of those guys go a little crazy.

Dennis Hallman is a veteran fighter. He has an outstanding career under his belt, and I know from personal experience how great Dennis is at fine-tuning fighters. He's someone who was very instrumental in my and Bryan's career and I wanted to offer all of that to my team and, as a bonus, do something cool to give back a little to Dennis.

I had no idea things would get so heated between Dennis and Edmund. I don't know for sure, but I honestly think Ronda and Edmund had no clue who Dennis was. I think they just saw he was Team Tate and that was enough for Edmund to start behaving like a child.

While both teams were in the building, Edmund was talking to Dennis, "Come on then! Come on then!" every time Dennis walked past him and, for a real fighter like Dennis, he's not going to put up with that forever.

There's a reason Edmund isn't a fighter. He likes to act tough – did you see him standing in that doorway with his arms crossed spitting in a trash can, LOL – but when it comes time to go, he's immediately looking for a way to avoid the fight.

I don't blame Dennis at all. With him, there's no "acting" tough. You either are, or you aren't, and Dennis wanted to find out if this guy talking smack was really tough.

Edmund is 2-0 in MMA, and one of those guys he beat was 6-18. If you were to track down Edmund's fights, you would see they are pathetic, so don't waste 10 minutes of your life. But my point is Dennis has had almost 70 MMA fights in a career that started in 1996. He deserves a little respect from those of us who followed him in the sport, But 2-0 Edmund wanted to act tough in front of the cameras to someone who had been in the sport for the last 17 years.

Ronda's obviously very loyal to her friends. She saved Edmund from getting his ass handed to him by Dennis. I can tell you from personal experience that Ronda is a very strong woman, but she's not so strong she should be able to hold a grown man back with one hand like she did Edmund when he was "trying to get at Dennis." Edmund was making all this noise, "Let me at him, let me at him" like Scrappy Doo used to, and Ronda was holding him back with one hand on his chest. I just started laughing.

I think Ronda was jealous someone else was acting crazier than she was, so obviously it was then time for Ronda to get into Dennis's face, too... Ronda was hysterical mouthing: "Do it at the right time! Do it… at the right time!"

Lady, we are in a MMA gym, with a boxing ring, a cage, hundreds of pairs of boxing gloves, MMA gloves, shin pads, handwraps, headgear and whatever else you'd like. What better time for two guys to work out their differences?

No one gets arrested for sparring and if Edmund wanted to prove something to Dennis, they could have sparred right there and then, cameras or not, and no one was going to get into trouble.

But instead Edmund was trying to give Dennis his phone number to arrange a brawl in a parking lot or somewhere later on, and apparently Ronda – who's the world champion of our sport - felt like that was the right way to go, too.

I'm sorry, maybe I shouldn't have, but I started laughing. And I didn't stop for maybe five minutes. The whole way that crew acts, with the Christian Bale Batman deep voices, the spitting in trash cans, the trying to give cell phone numbers out to arrange midnight fist-fights in parking lots… it is so comical. At that point, I couldn't help but laugh and as the season goes on they get crazier and crazier to the point I felt like I was showing up on the set of "Wacky Racers".

I take Ronda and her skills very, very seriously, don't mistake me, but her and her coaching staff, as people, I just think they are comedians.

Some fans have been asking why Ronda even has Edmund as part of her team. I can only think of the old saying, "birds of a feather flock together". Ronda's high strung so maybe she likes people like that around her.

The difference is with Ronda, she's got this unbelievable world-class talent to back up her cocky attitude. Edmund has nothing to back it up. He's just this unprofessional, immature, hot-headed cartoon character making an ass of himself on TV.

Ronda's entire team seems very emotionally unstable, and they seem to go nuts when they can't intimidate people.

I am not afraid of Ronda Rousey. I'm not intimidated. I am in this sport because I love it and because, with hard work and on my night, I believe I am the best in my weight class at it. I want the rematch against Ronda so badly, the idea that I am scared of her because she won the first fight is just silly.

A year ago Ronda proved she was the better fighter. I accept that result, but she needs to accept there's going to be another result on December 28 when we fight again.
