Missouri defensive end Nate Howard suspended after drug possession arrest
Missouri defensive end Nate Howard was arrested by campus police Wednesday night on three charges.
According to the Boone County Sheriff’s booking listing, Howard was arrested for marijuana possession, possession of a controlled substance and lack of vehicle registration. A spokesperson for the team said Howard has been suspended indefinitely after his arrest.
Bail for the marijuana and vehicle registration charges was set at $500 each. The controlled substance charge bail was at $4,500.

Howard is a possible starter on Missouri’s defensive line in 2017 and could be yet another Missouri lineman to head to the NFL. The Tigers’ defensive line has been one of the most prolific in the country over the last 10 years and Charles Harris was a first-round pick of the Miami Dolphins in May.
Howard appeared in four games in 2016 as a sophomore and had three tackles and a half sack. The St. Louis native was a three-star recruit in the class of 2015 and had 12 tackles as a freshman.
