Mississippi Valley State suspends Potts

Mississippi Valley State suspended head basketball coach Chico Potts and replaced him with associate coach Marcus Thomas.

According to ESPN, Potts had been arrested and charged with domestic violence. The Delta Devils athletic department confirmed the report and issued a statement.

"Effective immediately, Coach Potts has been suspended with pay," said university spokeswoman Jennifer Freeman said. "This suspension will remain in effect until the university completes its investigation.

The Delta Devils struggled to a 5-23 record in Potts' first season last year.
