King Mo Lawal Draws Przemyslaw Mysiala for Bellator Debut on January 24

King Mo Weighs In On Eddie Alvarez vs. Bellator: “Contract Disputes Are Part of Sports”

After a long absence from the sport, former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion “King” Mo Lawal will return to action on Jan. 24 and he now has an opponent for his Bellator debut.

As part of the second Bellator show on Spike TV, Lawal faces veteran fighter Przemyslaw Mysiala in the opening round of the light heavyweight tournament.

Lawal has been out of action for more than a year dealing with both a suspension handed down from his last fight, as well as a knee injury that nearly ended his career.

The former Strikeforce fighter tested positive for a banned substance following his win over Lorenz Larkin in Strikeforce, and he ended up with a nine-month suspension courtesy of the California State Athletic Commission.

Then Lawal suffered a major knee injury that forced him into the hospital and surgery that nearly ended his career. Luckily, Lawal battled back and now makes his Bellator debut in early 2013.

Facing Lawal will be 20-plus fight veteran Przemyslaw Mysiala in the opening round of the Bellator light heavyweight tournament.

Mysiala is the definition of a journeyman fighter, having competed in multiple organizations all over the world. He comes into his fight against Lawal off a loss in his last bout in March 2012. Mysiala will hope to pull off a major upset when he faces King Mo in January.

The Bellator card slated for Jan. 24 will be headlined by welterweight champion Ben Askren, as he faces top contender Karl Amoussou in the main event.
