Justin Bieber's Lost Blue Ferrari is Up for Auction

From Town & Country

Last year, Justin Bieber famously lost his neon blue Ferrari after a night out in Los Angeles. He had left the customized Ferrari 458 Italia, which was reportedly worth over $240,000, with the parking valets at the Montage hotel in Beverly Hills, but after a long night out he couldn't recall where he had parked it. It took his assistant three weeks to finally track the car down.

Misplacing his Ferrari was actually a minor issue compared to the many troubles that the singer has encountered while driving. Bieber was arrested in January 2014 in Miami for speeding and then resisting arrest. He eventually pled guilty to the charges in order to avoid a conviction for driving under the influence. Over the past few years he has also received several tickets for speeding and other infractions while driving- including making an illegal turn while driving the selfsame blue Ferrari in Los Angeles.

Perhaps realizing that he would be better off with fewer cars, Bieber is selling. Barret-Jackson will auction the car during its Scottsdale 2017 car auction during the weekend of January 20th (automobiles once owned by John Lennon and Steven Tyler will also be for sale). The Ferrari, which was custom-built by West Coast Customs in 2011, features a black interior and black and white leather seats that were made to the singer's specifications.

Though Barret-Jackson does not give estimates for its lots, the car is expected to sell for quite a lot of money. The company's CEO Craig Jackson believes the car will go for much more than it would have been worth new because of its celebrity connection. Jackson said, "The Justin Bieber Ferrari has several elements in its favor. It is an exotic car, was modified by an internationally-known shop and, of course, is owned by one of the hottest pop stars in the world. Modified contemporary exotic cars sometimes struggle during resale. But the combination of celebrity owner and celebrity builder provide the potential for a premium over a similar modified Ferrari."

Lets hope that this car finds a buyer. Bieber still owns a sizable collection of automobiles, including another Ferrari, a Lamborghini, and a Fisker Karma, but I think we can all agree the roads will be safer if there's one less car in his garage.

Word to the wise: if you don't enjoy screaming teenage girls, it might be best to place your bid on the phone. Bieber himself is expected to be on the block with his car.
