What If Jets Go Quarterback At Pick Six?
The New York Jets are a team in rebuilding mode. They have drafted a Quarterback every year the past four years, picking players such as, Geno Smith, Tahj Boyd, Bryce Petty, and Christian Hackenberg. They have yet to find their franchise quarterback and even though they have spent a high draft pick on Hackenberg in last years draft, it is thought that the Jets have their sited on this year’s crop of top quarterback talent. What if the Jets go quarterback with heir first pick? Lets find out.
First Round, Pick 6: Quarterback, Deshaun Watson- Clemson
The New York Jets get their franchise quarterback and don’t look back. They get arguably the top quarterback prospect in Deshaun Watson who is a proven winner and has the mentality to handle the pressure of being a franchise quarterback in New York.
Second Round, Pick 33: Safety, Marcus Williams- Utah
A prospect like Marcus Williams has the talent that will make him jump up teams draft boards. Jets get a safety that can replace Marcus Gilchrist and be a plug and play player and make a big impact on this weak secondary.
Third Round, Pick 65: Cornerback, Sidney Jones- Washington
Sidney Jones falls to the third round due to a torn Achilles he suffered during his pro day. Before the injury he was considered the top prospect at his position. He may not play this season but with his talent the Jets could not pass up the opportunity in getting a lock down corner in the third round. The Jets have time to wait for him to be healthy since they are a rebuilding team and don’t need him to rush back from injury.

Third Round, Pick 107: Edge, Daeshon Hall- Texas A&M
An explosive edge player that will immediately improve the Jets pass rush in his first season. Ha splayed down with his hand in the dirt and from a stand up backer position. Has improved every year at Texas A&M and coaches will love to work ith his skill set.
Fifth Round, Pick 150: Tight End, George Kittle- Iowa
George Kittle is a big receiving tight end that can be a force in the passing game. Kittle is athletic and can adjust to poorly thrown balls and has sure hands, only dropped one pass this past season. Has good technique blocking and has good feet to reach block. Jets get an all around tight end who is another plug and play player.
Sixth Round, Pick 191: Cornerback, Jalen Myrick- Minnesota
Jalen Myrck is a player who can be an instant impact player in the return game while adding depth to the secondary. Myrick could eventually be a Buster Skrine replacement. Myrick turned in a 4.28 second forty- yard dash at the combine. He shows he is not afraid to come up and paly the run and has the potential to be a solid nickel corner.
Seventh Round, Pick 224: Offensive Tackle, Jylan Ware- Alabama State
Jets get a nice project player here in the seventh round in Jylan Ware. He is a big bodied lineman with great athletic ability. He just needs to add some bulk to his frame and needs to work on being more consistent with his technique. If the Jets can work with Ware he can be a solid starter at the tackle position down the road. This pick will also help with the depth along the offensive line.

The Jets get their new shiny franchise quarterback in Deshaun Watson with their first round pick. Even though he may not start right away, they have some promise and hope at the position. Throughput the rest of the draft he Jets pick players that can come in and be immediate impact players well into he sixth round of the draft while also taking a few players, due to injury or a little coaching up, that in a year or two will be ready to make an impact for a young team that is rebuilding.
