Jeremy Larsen Draws UFC Newcomer Andre Fili at UFC 166 in Houston

Charles Oliveira had to drop out of his UFC 166 fight with Jeremy Larsen last week due to injury. Larsen, however, will remain on the fight card with a new opponent.

UFC officials on Monday announced that Octagon newbie Andre Fili has agreed to replace Oliveira.

Larsen (8-4) is in a bit of desperation mode, having lost both of his UFC bouts to date. Joe Proctor stopped him via TKO at the TUF 15 Finale in June of last year. The Rage in the Cage veteran then got knocked out by Lucas Martins at UFC on FX 8 in May of this year.

If Larsen doesn’t get a victory in this bout, he will likely be handed a pink slip.

Fili (12-1) has worked his way to the Octagon by racking up victories on the California scene. He is currently riding an eight-fight winning streak that dates back to October of 2011.

A heavyweight title fight between UFC champion Cain Velasquez and former titleholder Junior dos Santos headlines the UFC 166 event on Oct. 19 in Houston.
