Idris Elba is an accomplished actor who has demonstrated his impressive thespian chops as a detective in “Luther,” a drug dealer in “The Wire” and a ruthless commander in “Beasts of No Nation.”

But the 44-year-old’s kickboxing debut was anything but an act. And Madonna was there to capture it all.

Elba made his kickboxing debut over the weekend at London’s York Hall and scored a knockout win over his opponent while demonstrating an impressive arsenal of kicks and punches.

Elba, who also spends time as a DJ, had spent the past year training for this moment as part of a three-part documentary titled “Idris Elba: Fighter” that will debut early next year on the Discovery Channel.

“It has been a lifelong ambition of mine to fight professionally,” the Golden Globe winner said in a press release back in August. “Entering the ring to further test myself as a human being is a challenge I have been looking to take on for quite some time.”

It was an impressive kickboxing debut that had everyone talking. But there was just as much discussion, if not more, about the presence of Madonna at ringside. The 58-year-old pop legend further fueled speculation of her relationship with Elba after posting video of the actor’s fight.

But Elba knocked out the rumors of a romantic relationship with Madonna in just as dominant fashion as he demonstrated over the weekend.

“Am I sleeping with Madonna? No mother-[expletive]… ‘Don’t believe the Hype.’”
