Former Patriot Johnson angers Wilfork over wife comment

Former New England Patriots linebacker Ted Johnson angered former teammate Vince Wilfork when he insulted Wilfork's wife during his radio show in Houston on Friday.

A caller asked Johnson: Of all of the players who he played with, which one had the least attractive spouse?

"Gosh," Johnson said. "He won't hear this: Vince Wilfork."

But Wilfork heard about the comment and responded to Johnson via Twitter.

"@TedJ52 your barking up the wrong tree," Wilfork wrote. "I hear and see everything (expletive)."

Johnson later apologized in a series of tweets.

"I just made a huge error in judgement and want to apologize to Vince and his wife for comments I made earlier today on a Houston radio show," Johnson wrote. "... Vince and his family are outstanding people who I have admired since they arrived in NE. I learned a big lesson today and feel terrible. ... I have personally apologized to the family and feel awful. It was a huge error in judgment and I'm sorry for upsetting Vince's family. ... The last thing I will say about this is that I understand the criticism (and) will own my poor decision."

Wilfork's wife, Bianca, later responded on Instagram.

"In this day and age people forget to realize its not about looks weight money or status," she wrote. "My relationship with my husband of 9 years and together for 12 is about being real, being in love, building each other up and having each other's back those things can't be measured determines or valued by looks or money. Those things shine in the darkest times and relish in the best. Love all the support but trust me I'm good."
