Flyers 4, Canucks 3 (SO)
VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Philadelphia center Vincent Lecavalier scored the only goal in a shootout Monday night, and the Flyers beat the Vancouver Canucks 4-3 at Rogers Arena.
Flyers center Brayden Schenn, with his first goal in 17 games, forced overtime with 46.8 seconds to play in the third period.
A quarter of the way through the season, Schenn was on pace for 24 goals, but he went dry until left uncovered by the Canucks for an easy tap-in.
The Canucks went ahead 3-2 on a goal credited to left winger Daniel Sedin at 17:12 of the third. A rebound went off Flyers defenseman Luke Schenn and past goalie Steve Mason.
Holding an advantage in puck possession and offensive chances throughout the game, the Canucks -- who outshot the Flyers 44-27 -- fell behind 1-0 on a goal by Mark Streit. The Philadelphia defenseman was left uncovered to convert a rebound at 15:24 of the first period after left winger Michael Raffl walked out from behind the net.
Vancouver fourth-line left winger Tom Sestito, with some nifty footwork to put the puck on his stick, scored his third of the season at 4:24 of the second period to make it 1-1.
Then Daniel Sedin, center Henrik Sedin and Hansen combined for a series of give-and-goes and cycling before Hansen netted his fourth goal in seven games with the Sedins. The goal put the Canucks ahead 2-1 at 16:51 of the second.
Giroux, outworking Vancouver defenseman Chris Tanev, evened things again with 1:08 to go in the second.
Giroux, Raffl and right winger Jakub Voracek have combined for 37 points since being thrown together nine games ago.
Mason, who won his sixth straight and increased his string of games without a regulation loss to nine (7-0-2), made three point-blank stops in the first six minutes of the third period, turning back Daniel Sedin on a breakaway and center Ryan Kesler and left winger David Booth on two-on-ones.
He also stopped Chris Higgins in the first after it appeared the Canucks left winger deked his way to an open net. Mason got his paddle on the puck in a desperation move. Mason finished with 41 saves.
The loss dropped Vancouver's December record to 10-1-2 and ended a seven-game home win streak.
Philadelphia (20-16-4) plays the Flames on Tuesday in Calgary.
Vancouver (23-11-8) hosts the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday.

The last Flyer to score two or more goals three games in a row was RW Reggie Leach in 1981. ... Vancouver C Ryan Kesler's assist on Sunday at Calgary ended a four-game pointless skid. Kesler has not gone more than four games without a point this season. ... The Canucks recalled D Frank Corrado on Monday. D Andrew Alberts (concussion) on Sunday joined D Alex Edler (knee) and D Ryan Stanton (ankle) on the injured list. ... G Eddie Lack started again in place of injured G Roberto Luongo. Luongo had been 5-1-1 with a 1.75 goals-against average in his previous seven starts before suffering a lower-body injury against Winnipeg on Dec. 22.
