Start — Jay Ajayi

I’m pretty sure my Dolphins fandom would be revoked if I didn’t go with Ajayi in this spot this week. However, his role here does come with some concern and trepidation. For the most part, Ajayi is in this position because I still don’t have a lot of faith in the rest of the offensive players.

The offensive line played their best game in at least five or six years last week. That form resulted both in Ajayi’s career day and Ryan Tannehill’s success. Given how bad the offensive line have been in years past and earlier this year, I am a little gun shy in expecting that type of performance every week.

If it happens again this week, great! Jay Ajayi will have a tremendous day running the football. Ryan Tannehill will be hurling the rock all over the field. The Dolphins will exit with a win. If that happens, you will definitely want to have at least Ajayi in your starting lineup come Sunday afternoon.

Drop — Ryan Tannehill

Despite playing his best game of the season last week, I can’t place a lot of faith in Ryan Tannehill. Sure, he could prove me wrong again. I would love to see him do that. After all, if he proves me wrong, the Miami Dolphins are probably leaving the game on Sunday with their third win of the season.

The biggest obstacle for Tannehill this week will be the Buffalo Bills defense. Coached by the Ryan brothers, they have played some tremendous football during the team’s four game winning streak. Practicing a bend but don’t break approach, the Bills defense is both a turnover and sack machine all rolled into one.

If the defensive unit of the Bills plays like they have been, Ryan Tannehill will once again find himself on the ground more times than not. Unless the offensive line has another tremendous game this week, it will be a long game for Ryan Tannehill and the Miami passing attack.
