Breaking down Brad Smith's paycut

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Brad Smith recently signed a renegotiated contract prior to the start of training.

It reduces his base salaries for each of the next two seasons.

Smith is now due a $1.5 million base salary in 2013, down from $2.725 million and has reduced his salary-cap figure from $3.8 million to $2.575 million. He was paid a $500,000 roster bonus on the third day of the league year. The deal still includes $75,000 in incentives for this year.

In 2014, he has a $2.325 million salary-cap figure, down from $4 million, after reducing his base salary to $1.4 million from $3 million. He still has $75,000 in incentives that year along with a $250,000 roster bonus and a $100,000 workout bonus.
