Beckett off DL, starts vs. Mariners

The Boston Red Sox activated right-handed pitcher Josh Beckett from the 15-day disabled list and designated outfielder Darnell McDonald for assignment, the club announced Saturday.
Beckett started Saturday's game at the Seattle Mariners.
Beckett was on the DL since retroactive to June 12 with right shoulder inflammation. He was 4-7 with a 4.14 ERA in 12 starts going into Saturday's game.
McDonald hit .214 with two homers and nine RBI in 38 games for the Red Sox this season.
