Newly-launched Boulder NIL Club off to strong start

NIL (Name, Image and Likeness) programs have been sprouting up across the country over the past year in hopes of helping student-athletes get paid.

While NIL is still mostly uncharted territory, CU Buffs student-athletes have already been working to make some extra money, whether it be through local restaurantsunderwear modeling or a long list of other opportunities.

One of the newest programs now available for Colorado football players is the Boulder NIL Club (BNC). The club went live on Tuesday, allowing fans to donate directly in exchange for some pretty unique access to players and other fans.

Here’s how the club’s website describes it:

The BNC is a player-led fan community that benefits members of the Colorado football team. Through the Boulder NIL Club, these members of the team provide fans with digital content and experiences such as digital meet-and-greets, player-recorded content, and much more throughout the year. The BNC generates revenue through fans subscribing to the club. A monthly commitment of any amount allows fans to join the NIL Club and access BNC-exclusive chat rooms, message boards, and content.

BNC’s website states that over 75 players are currently involved, including Devin Grant, Trevor Woods, Victor Venn, Cole Becker and Jason Oliver.

As of Friday, BNC has 85 active members who’ve raised nearly $3,300. The proceeds are later split equally amongst the participating players, according to the website.
