Nets GM Sean Marks fined, suspended after post-game confrontation with refs
It was all good just a week ago in Brooklyn.
The Nets had stunned the Philadelphia 76ers with a 111-102 Game 1 victory and had somehow made Jared Dudley the face of frustration for Philly.
Four games later the Nets are down 3-1 in the series, Dudley is being trolled by the Sixers as a “nobody” and now this: Nets general manager Sean Marks has been fined $25,000 and suspended one game for barging into the referee locker room after tensions boiled over in Game 4.

The one-game suspension seems more symbolic than anything here — what can Marks do from the owner’s box that he can’t already do away from the arena? — but the point remains that the NBA isn’t going to tolerate players or team leaders going after the officials. Especially in the playoffs.

Brooklyn has a lot to feel good about this season. If the way things are trending heading into Game 5 are any indication, the way the season ends won’t be one of the reasons to smile when the Nets look back on the year.
That being said, a rivalry between Brooklyn and Philly carrying over to next season wouldn’t be the worst outcome here.
