Nebraska ranked No. 69 in PFF’s power rankings

Many Nebraska fans have a reason to be hopeful about the upcoming season. Matt Rhule has a proven track record of taking a fluttering program and turning them into a competitive roster. His time at both Temple and Baylor provides a light as to what is to come in Lincoln.

Until then, the narrative around Nebraska will remain unchanged. According to Pro Football Focus’ early preseason power rankings, Nebraska is viewed in a worse light compared to ESPN’s power index.

Of the 131 potential schools to rank, the Cornhuskers see themselves as the 69th-best team in PFF’s eyes. This also makes them the fourth-worst Big Ten team, with only Northwestern, Indiana, and Rutgers ahead of them.

PFF’s 69th ranking is almost 20 sports lower than ESPN’s 52nd overall. However, ESPN also believes Nebraska has the fourth worst program right now, but that could also change this season.

While ranking the Huskers at 69th, PFF notes that Nebraska has the sixth hardest schedule based on their power rankings, with Minnesota, Texas, Purdue, Colorado, and Oklahoma having harder schedules.
