NCAA Tournament bracketology: Where Grand Canyon stands in 2024 March Madness projections
The Grand Canyon men's basketball team is currently in great shape to make the NCAA Tournament, but it still has work to do.
The Antelopes are 11-1 in the WAC, with a 21-2 overall record.
Their closest conference competitor is Tarleton State, which is 9-3 in conference play and 16-7 overall.
GCU has eight regular-season games remaining before the WAC Tournament, including a game at Tarleton State on Feb. 22.
The WAC Tournament is scheduled to run March 13-16 in Las Vegas, with the winner of that tournament getting the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
Right now, bracketology predictions for the NCAA Tournament predict that GCU will win the conference and get that automatic bid as the WAC's lone March Madness representative.
Could the Antelopes still get a bid if they don't win the WAC tourney?
They probably don't want to leave it in the hands of the selection committee, no matter how impressive GCU's record might be.
Grand Canyon doesn't exactly have the hardest strength of schedule.
Here's the most recent NCAA Tournament projections for GCU basketball, which assume that the Antelopes will win the WAC Tournament.
