NBA DFS: CJ McCollum in a revenge game against his former team? Sign us up

For these next couple of weeks in the NBA, storylines are going to be really important to follow. There are already star players out for the year like Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. There are also teams like the Boston Celtics who are sitting starters to rest for the playoffs.

As for the players I am playing in daily fantasy on Wednesday, there shouldn’t be any issues regarding playing time. I’ve targeted a revenge game, a team vying for a playoff spot and a rookie rising star getting well deserved reps.

$37 NOLA G CJ MCCOLLUM at POR

There is nothing like a good revenge spot in the NBA. New Orleans Pelicans guard CJ McCollum gets that opportunity Wednesday night against his former team, the Portland Trail Blazers. He knows the arena after playing there his entire nine-year career. Portland’s defense is also allowing the third-most points per game to guards this year. Overall as a defense, it's gone from allowing 114.9 PPG to 124.7 PPG in their last 10 matchups. McCollum has been on fire since joining the Pelicans, putting up 25.9 PPG since the trade. I will definitely be watching this late-night showdown with McCollum showing up his former team.

$21 ATL C CLINT CAPELA AT OKC

I could not believe Clint Capela’s price was so low. Granted, he’s been inconsistent in comparison to last year; however, this matchup is gold for him. The Thunder are allowing centers to average 16.7 PPG and 11.7 rebounds in their last 10. The Oklahoma City defense wasn’t terrible overall this year, allowing 111.2 PPG, but that number has gone up to 120.1 PPG allowed in the last two weeks. With centers and power forwards like Drew Eubanks, Nikola Jokic and Wendell Carter Jr. putting up at least 25 points and 12 rebounds against the Thunder this month, I’m taking advantage of a low $21 price on Capela.

$21 HOU SG JALEN GREEN VS. SAC

The Houston Rockets shooting guard Jalen Green has been one of my favorite players to target in DFS and in props in the last month. He’s averaging 20.1 PPG since Mar. 1 and now gets one of the worst defenses in the NBA, the Sacramento Kings. In the last 10 games, the Kings have allowed shooting guards Buddy Held, Devin Booker, Jaylen Brown, Zach Lavine, Donovan Mitchell and RJ Barrett to have 25 or more points against them. Green’s just a rookie so playing time shouldn’t be an issue for a team that’s out of the playoff hunt.
