While Reid wasn't at WWE's "WrestleMania" on Saturday night, his following lives on. A towel that read "Naz Reid" was shown prominently on the broadcast of "Wrestlemania," which confused many on social media that weren't aware of his cult fanbase.

The Tigers' account on X, formerly known as Twitter, even got in on the bit, writing "It's always Naz Reid, even at WrestleMania."

Reid, who played one season at LSU in 2018-19, is in his fifth season with Minnesota after going undrafted in 2019. The 6-foot-9 forward is averaging 13.3 points with 5.2 rebounds per game on 47.7% shooting this season for the playoff-bound Timberwolves.

The former five-star prospect averaged 13.6 points with 7.2 rebounds per game in his lone season with the Tigers.

Naz Reid meme

The internet works in weird ways, and somehow Naz Reid became a meme in basketball fan circles.

The likely scenario is Reid's play and underdog situation, as Reid went undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft but has emerged as one of the best bench contributors in the NBA.

Fans in on the internet joke will commonly be seen saying "Naz Reid" to each other, with the recipient repeating the phrase, almost like a handshake or a universally known gesture.
